Hyped Overdrive
It's possible to love a pedal but also think the hype and mystique is ridiculous, right?
This is a proper clone of an original 90's silver Klon that was de-gooped, traced and the schematic shared online, with a few extra tricks up it's sleeve. The perfect transparent overdrive to push a tube amp to breakup or to stack with other kinds of drive pedals.
Not wanting to leave things alone, I added a couple mini switches to the bottom right of the circuit board if you take off the back cover (see last image).

- NOS Soviet germanium clipping diodes that I have found to be closest in spec to the orginal "mythical" Centaur diodes (if you care about such things)
- Runs on your standard 9V Boss-style center-neg power supply (do not run more than 9v on a true Klon clone as it has a voltage doubler to 18V inside!! *no battery clip on any of my pedals*)
- Soft touch relay footswitch
- True Bypass!
- Handbuilt with love in small batches in Vancouver, Canada

- 'FAT' mode switches in a different capacitor for a slightly fuller, fatter sounding (dare I say better sounding?) Klon. Note that this switch is only audible when the gain is up past halfway.
- A clipping switch for selecting between the stock germanium diodes (GE) and LED diodes which change the distortion character of the pedal, making it louder, more dynamic and amp-like (all the buzzwords). Again, only noticable at higher gain settings when the diodes come into play. Play with them and see which you prefer!
